Michelin Masterclass Unveils Culinary Excellence in Serbia
The prestigious MICHELIN Guide, in collaboration with the National Tourism Organization of Serbia, proudly announces the first Michelin Masterclass that was held at the Twenty Two restaurant, situated on the 10th floor of the iconic Metropol Palace in Belgrade, on January 16, 2024.
Officially present in Serbia for the past three years, the MICHELIN Guide is marking this significant milestone by bringing together a distinguished group of chefs whose restaurants have been selected by the famously anonymous MICHELIN Guide inspectors for the year 2024.
This exclusive event showcased the culinary talent in the region and celebrated the dedication to exceptional dining experiences.
The highlight of the Michelin Masterclass was a unique gastronomic journey, focusing on zero waste and eco-friendly philosophies. To kick off the day, all participating chefs visited the renowned Kalenic farmers market to source seasonal vegetables and locally-based ingredients.
The menu for the Masterclass was crafted from these fresh finds, underscoring a commitment to sustainability and a celebration of Serbia’s rich culinary offerings.
Leading the Masterclass were acclaimed chefs Chiara Pavan and Francesco Brutto from Italy, who brought their expertise and passion for gastronomy to share insights with the Serbian culinary community.
The event delivered a day of collaboration and exploration, as chefs worked together to create an extraordinary dining experience for the attendees.
The menu engineering session, titled „ABOUT MENU ENGINEERING,“ took participants on a journey down to the heart of Belgrade, where they discovered the details and precision behind menu engineering from the perspective of professionals from an Italian Starred.
This insightful session aimed to elevate the culinary landscape in Serbia and inspired chefs to strive for excellence in their craft.
„This Masterclass is more than a gathering; it’s a celebration of culinary artistry and a testament to the vibrancy of Serbia’s gastronomic scene. We are excited to bring together chefs who have received Michelin recommendations for an unforgettable day of collaboration, exploration, and gastronomic delight,“ Commented the MICHELIN Guide.
The culmination of the day was a unique dining experience where the dishes prepared during the Masterclass were savored in the good company of fellow chefs, fostering a sense of camaraderie and setting the stage for Serbia’s culinary scene to aspire to the coveted MICHELIN Star.
